To weak to surf

overcast 29 °C

After our nature walk in cahuita we had a nice shower and a lie down. We were looking forward to cooking in the excelent kitchen that the hostel provided, but we arrived to find that it consisted of a gas hob, two plastic plates and a huge knife. So instead we had our "chicken pate" which was like grey cream, on bread.

We headed to a cocktail bar and then to watch a reggae band which were very good. We danced around with our old hostel friends and some dogs and californians.

The next day was the hottest day in history. We decided to go surfing so we rented out a board. We tried to walk with it into the sea but the waves were so strong we kept falling over and the board kept hitting us. Unable to actually get into the water, we dragged our board back onto the beach and traded it in for a boogie board instead.

Today we made the journey to Panama. At the border you had to walk on bridge that used to be a train track, over a river. There was a plank of wood that bridged all of the gaps to walk on. Katie totally freaked out and walked extremely slowley. When a women with a pram walked past her, she grabbed onto the handle of the pram out of fear, without saying a word.

We got the boat over to Bocas del Toro and now we are having an explore!

love you xxx
